Hot Toddy

Can you feel that slight chill in the air? Yes, the weather in March can sometimes be surprisingly cold, so go and cozy up with this Hot Toddy– a warm whiskey-based cocktail perfect after your day of revelry!

What You’ll Need:

  • 3/4 c. hot water
  • 1 1/2 oz. whisky or bourbon
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1/2 oz. lemon juice
  • Lemon wedge and/or cinnamon stick, optional

  1. Place the water in a mug and microwave on high for 1 minute until very hot (but not boiling). Mix in the whiskey, honey and lemon juice. Drop in a lemon wedge and cinnamon stick, if you like.

Classic Mint Julep

While a Classic Mint Julep is typically made with bourbon, feel free to swap it with your favorite Irish whiskey! In any case, downing a glass of this refreshing cocktail will make you feel like you’ve just won a pot of gold!

What You’ll Need:

  • 4 sprigs fresh mint
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • 2 1/2 oz. bourbon
  • Crushed ice

  1. Remove the leaves from one sprig of mint and place in a mint julep cup or rocks glass with the simple syrup. Using a wooden muddler, gently muddle to release the aromas and flavor of the mint leaves, about 20 seconds.
  2. Add the bourbon to the glass, then fill with crushed ice. Stir well to combine, until the sides of the glass are icy, abut 20 seconds.
  3. Bundle the remaining three sprigs of mint together and slap them on the back of your hand. Stick the mint into the ice to create a mint bouquet on the side of your glass. Drink immediately!

Green Beer

Do you want to make the easiest St. Patrick’s Day drink ever? Look no further! The classic Green Beer is the way to go! You’ll only need two ingredients that will come together in just a couple of minutes! Plus, there’s no denying that turning beer green is as festive as it gets.

Spicy Jalapeño Margarita

Most people will agree that a Spicy Jalapeño Margarita ISN’T a typical Irish drink, but we’re sure that tequila lovers and spicy fanatics will go “gaga” over this concoction! You can also add extra lime and jalapeño slices for that green Irish flare.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 medium jalapeño, cut lengthwise, seeds removed
  • 1 3/4 c. silver tequila

  • 3 oz. jalapeño tequila
  • 2 oz. triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 1/2 oz. lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. agave or simple syrup (optional)
  • Lime and jalapeño slices, for garnish

  1. For the jalapeño tequila: Place the jalapeño halves and tequila in a pint-sized glass jar. Cover and let sit at room temperature for 24 hours. Remove the jalapeño and any seeds that may have escaped.
  2. For the margaritas: Combine the jalapeño tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and agave syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for 20 to 30 seconds to chill well. Strain into each margarita glass or rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with slices of lime and jalapeño, if you like.
